Cancer Support Group

We offer weekly support groups for people living with a cancer diagnosis. In a warm, supportive, and safe community, we explore the challenges of living with cancer. Together, we find ways to cope with multiple life changes and uncertainty.

Caregiver Support Group

We offer weekly support groups for people caring for someone with a cancer diagnosis. In a warm, supportive, and safe community, we explore together the challenges of caring for one’s self while caring for a loved one. Topics discussed including coping with multiple life changes, shifting roles and responsibilities, and managing uncertainty.

Adult Bereavement Group

The loss of someone we love to cancer is often prolonged, difficult, lonely and profound. In our bereavement group, you will find companionship; you will find wisdom; and you will find whatever you feel is also shared by others in the room. We will explore the challenges of holding grief, which is the expression of our love. Together we will discuss the multiple life changes that accompany the death of a loved one, various ways to cope, our shifting roles and relationships, and how to live in the face of uncertainty. Cancer Support Community Massachusetts will offer you a warm, supportive and safe community in which you are welcome as you are.

Young Adult Bereavement Group

Losing someone we love to cancer is an emotionally difficult and profound experience. This support group offers a safe and supportive space to explore the emotions and challenges that accompany grief. We will explore together ways to cope, the various life changes that require us to make adaptations, and the shifting roles and challenges we all experience after we lose someone we love.

Multiple Myeloma Networking Group

This monthly group is for people with multiple myeloma; partners are welcome to attend as well. Together we create a warm and safe community in which to explore the challenges of living with multiple myeloma. Group members provide support, friendship, connection, and the wisdom of experience to help those traveling the same journey.

Chinese Brush Painting

In this weekly drop-in class, Chinese Brush Painters experience the rhythm of single strokes to express the essence of the subject matter. It is very meditative and expressive at the same time.

This class is open to people with cancer and their loved ones. No previous experience is necessary; just pre-register and enjoy. Hybrid (virtual and in person).

Writing for Wellness

There is considerable research that has emerged about the therapeutic benefits of writing. Writing what is most true for you can leave you feeling less stressed and can strengthen your immune system. Each week, we begin with a short meditation, a free write, and then some structured and unstructured writing prompts that are always optional. Emphasis is on support, writing what you need to write, and finding your own unencumbered voice. Group members often share what they have written with one another.
